Ah, the library.

Serene, peaceful, inspiration brimming from wall to wall, the smell of knowledge one could acquire from its many shelves of books fills the air, so full of life, so-

Full of people taking afternoon naps on the couches?!

Alright so let's get real.  50 percent of the time, it's packed with students cramming for finals and upcoming tests, the other half for the ones who have either nowhere else to go, nothing to do or are hoping to make a ruckus to annoy other students around.

Eitherway, whether you're part of the former or the latter, here are a few basic etiquette rules that aren't going to get you kicked out of the library or shushed by the librarian countless of times.

1.  Don't fangirl.

Keep the pictures of Chris Evans and Alex Pettyfer away.  Don't watch a Zac Efron movie or any romance movie where the guy sweeps the girl off her feet with a grand, elaborate (normally cringe worthy in my opinion) gesture.  Don't even listen to One Direction, the last thing you want is to be caught by the librarian on duty glaring at you as you swoon and hyperventilate at the sound of Harry Style's british accent.

2.  Don't break out into a dance routine.

All the world's a stage but NOT when you're in the library guys.  Unless you want a video of you shuffling, doing the chicken dance and pirouetting circulating round YouTube, I'd advice you not to.

3.  Keep all Karaoke sessions at bay.

Reminder : This is a library, you're not here to film a music video nor audition for American Idol.  Keep it up and there'll probably be a Simon Cowell at the other end of the room yelling "It's a no for me, now shut up or get out."  Harsh.

4.  Pick up a book.

Books are great, and I don't just mean textbooks or reference books, but novels.  Even if you're not an avid reader and don't have a penchant for fiction, you could pick up a magazine or two!

5.  Sleep.

I think this is pretty self-explanatory.  Libraries are a great place if you're hoping to catch a few winks.  Aircond and peace & quiet, what more could you ask for?

Well, peace and quiet if this etiquette is instilled in every student.

Ha ha, like that's gonna happen.  Starbucks it is.

Face it.  We all love Starbucks.

For some reason, the prospect of having a delicious cup of coffee with your name written on it (normally misspelt) along with the occasional smiley face, message or greeting from the barista is ideal.  Oh, and it's totally Instagram-worthy as well.  Hashtag hipster.  Also, with a Starbucks on campus itself, it's all very tempting.

But are we really going to fish out fifteen dollars for coffee?  You may try to justify it by proclaiming it's premium roasted handcrafted coffee but is there such a distinct difference in taste compared to a packet of Nescafe?

Nevertheless, if you're reluctant on switching your coffee fix to not so premium roasted handcrafted coffee, here's a few ways you could save your money at Starbucks.

(And okay, yes, I admit.  I'm a slave to Starbucks as well, which is why every single picture in this post was taken by yours truly.  No need to lift any images off Google, I have aplenty of Starbucks pictures in my camera album.  Oops.)

1.  Get a Starbucks card.

All you have to do is reload RM 20 into the card in order to receive one.  Basically, it's your credit card for Starbucks.  Some may render it useless by arguing that it's no different than just paying with good old cash but hey, it comes along with a ton of benefits!

With every 10 drinks you purchase with this card, you receive a free Grande beverage of your choice!  If you happen to purchase a drink within your birthday month, you receive a complimentary slice of cake!  (And who doesn't love cake?)  The same thing applies to food, purchase 7 food items and you get a free donut.  It's pretty rad.

2.  Buy a Starbucks tumbler.

This one's for those of you who prefer lattes over frappuccinos.  Instead of using their paper cups, bring along your Starbucks tumbler and you'll receive a RM1 discount on your drink!  It may not be much, but a little goes a long way.  You'd have saved 10 bucks in no time.

And hey, you're saving the environment too!

3.  Order a Venti sized drink and split it into half.

If you and a friend happen to have the same Starbucks order, ask them for a Venti but to split it into half.  Sharing is always a good idea if you're on a tight budget.  And hey, half a cup is better than nothing, right?

And the easiest way to save your money at Starbucks?

4.  Just don't get anything.  Seriously.  Save the cash.

Oh and you won't have to go through that little fit of annoyance you get when they misspell your name.

Although, if you happen to be the kind who would Instagram a picture of it along with..

Caption : They misspelt my name, again?!?  UGH STARBUCKS GET IT RIGHT.  #annoyed #coffee #starbucks #hipster #girl #spellitright #idiots #sheesh #frappuccino

Sucks to be you then.
Walking into Taylor's Lakeside, there's one thing for sure you're bound to notice.

We have the liberty to wear whatever we want to campus and aren't enslaved to any strict dress codes.  Another thing you'd notice is that everyone's style is heterogeneous.  The only thing we have in common is our diversity and while that may seem like quite a paradox, let us examine five of the many types of college students and their sense of style.

1.  The Fashionista

I'm guessing that many of us have found ourselves rolling our eyes and scoffing at people of the Fashionista variety just because we're attending college, not the New York Fashion Week.  But hey, give them the benefit of the doubt.  It takes a whole lot of will and discipline to be able to get up at seven in the morning and come to college looking as though they belong in Vogue rather than a Pre-Calc class even though they may have only garnered about.. four hours of sleep the previous night?  Major respect for them right there.

Their catchphrase?  "I can't wear that top again, I've already worn it twice!!!"

2.  The Hipster

Think beanies, scarves, skinny jeans, funky hats and ironic slogan tees.  While it may seem out of the norm, these people sure know how to pull it off.  Complete that with a pair of headphones dangling round their neck and hippie sunglasses.

Their catchphrase?  "These pants aren't that tight.  You should see what some of my friends wear, now that's tight."

3.  The Laidback I-Couldn't-Care-Less

Oversized t-shirts, large sweaters and jeans are second skin for these people.  They don't get all the hype over the latest trends and are walking examples of the saying - less is more.  Simplicity at its best, right?

Their catchphrase?  "Kimono cardigans?  What are you, Japanese?  This is Malaysia lah, wear a baju kurung if you're trying to be traditional."

4.  Polished, Prim & Proper

Don't mistaken them for working adults.  Clad from head to toe in a simple yet elaborate well-put together outfit, you can't help but be in awe of how smart and classy they look.  It almost seems as though they have a presentation every other day.

Their catchphrase?  "What, this?  Oh, it's nothing.  I just felt like wearing a blazer for the fun of it."

5.  The Athletes

You can't tell if they're supposed to attend class, or have some sports tournament to attend.  Nike shoes?  Check.  Adidas top?  Check.  Gym bag in tow?  You got it.  Oh, and you can't help but be envious of those with really cool sports shoes.

Their catchphrase?  "Can't hang around with you guys now, heading to the gym" or "I'm at the gym, save a seat for me in class."

College?  More like fashion runway.
